Rt Hon Jim Bolger, ONZ, Hon D Lit
Chair

Rt Hon Jim Bolger is Chair for New Zealand Post Limited, Kiwibank Limited, Express Couriers Limited and Gas Industry Company Limited and is also a Director of the New Zealand Trade Liberalisation Network Incorporated.

Mr Bolger was Prime Minister of New Zealand from October 1990 to December 1997. During his 25-year career in politics he led the National Party for almost 12 years, was a Minister for 16 years and had three consecutive terms as the country’s head of government.

In December 1997 Mr Bolger was appointed a member of the Order of New Zealand, New Zealand’s highest honour.  From June 1998 to January 2002 he was New Zealand’s Ambassador to the United States.

Mr Bolger also chairs the Advisory Board of the World Agricultural Forum, St Louis, USA, is Chair of the Board of Directors of the Ian Axford Fellowships in Public Policy, Chair of Trustees Executors Limited, Trustee of the Rutherford Trust, and President of the NZ/US Council.  In January 2004 he was made Patron of the Institute of Rural Health and in May 2007 was made the Founding Patron of the New Zealand United World College Trust.  In February 2007 he was appointed the Chancellor of Waikato University.


Ken George Douglas, ONZ, Hon LLD, JP
Deputy Chair

Ken Douglas is Deputy Chair of the New Zealand
Post Limited Board, Chair of the Wellington Region Economic Development Trust and Director of Air New Zealand Limited.

Prior to being appointed as a Director of New Zealand Post Limited in 2000, Mr Douglas was President of the New Zealand Council of Trade Unions, President of the Asia Pacific Regional Organisation International Confederation of Free Trade Unions and a member of the International Labour Organisation Governing Body.  He was also the National Secretary of the Wellington District Council New Zealand Federation of Labour and Vice President of the New Zealand’s Drivers Federation.

 

Shale Chambers, LLB

Shale Chambers is a lawyer and the Managing Partner of ChambersCraigJarvis. He is a Director of Vector Limited, NGC Holdings Limited, and Vector Communications Limited, and former Deputy Chair
of Meteorological Service of New Zealand and Metra Information Limited.  He is also a Trustee (former Deputy Chair) the Auckland Energy Consumer Trust.

 

Philippa (Pip) Dunphy, B.Hort.Sci,  CFA
Director

Pip Dunphy is a Board Member of ACC and Mint Asset Management and a Selection Committee Member for the NZ Super Fund.

She was previously Executive Director, Investment Banking and Head of Debt Capital for Goldman Sachs JB Were and Head of Capital and Risk Management, Wholesale Financial Services at the Bank of New Zealand. She has also served on the Board of the Earthquake Commission

 

Professor Ngatata Love, QSO, JP, PhD, BCA (Hons), BCom
Director

Professor Ngatata Love is Chair of the Wellington Tenths Trust and Palmerston North Maori Reserve, Director of Village at the Park Retirement Village Limited, Director of 217 Taranaki Limited and Capital Hill Limited, and a Council Member of Massey University.

In the late 1990s he held the position of Chief Executive for the Ministry of Maori Development (Te Puni Kokiri), responsible for the effective and economical management of the activities of the department.  Prior to this he was Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies at Massey University.

 

Sara Lunam, BA, PG Dip Regional and Resource Planning
Director

Sara Lunam is a Director of Te Arahono Limited and the Chair of World Netball Championships 2007 Limited.

Ms Lunam has worked in the steel, transport and forestry sectors in New Zealand and Australia.  She has been Chief Executive of Fibre Solutions, a Carter Holt company, Tranz Link Limited (now Toll NZ Limited) and held executive positions in BHP.

 

James Ogden, BCA (Hons), FCA, FinstD, CMA, CFIP
Director

James Ogden is Chair of the Ministry of Social Development’s Audit Committee and Wellington City Council’s Council Controlled Organisation Performance Monitoring Sub-Committee.  He is Deputy Chair of AgriQuality Limited and a Council Member of Victoria University of Wellington.  Mr Ogden is Director of Ogden Consulting Limited, Australasian Hotel Holdings Limited, Motor Trade Association Group Investments Limited, Vehicle Testing Group Limited, and Academic Colleges of New Zealand Limited.  He is also a consulting Director of LECG Limited and a Trustee of the Victoria University of Wellington Foundation and Scots College Foundation.

Mr Ogden’s background includes experience as an investment banker with Credit Suisse First Boston and Macquarie New Zealand Limited.   He has also worked in the dairy industry as Chief Executive of Whey Products (NZ) Limited and Wellington Dairy Farmers/Hutt Milk Corporation.

 

Hon Stan Rodger CMG, JP
Director

Hon Stan Rodger is Chair of University Union Limited and a member of the Electricity Commission.

Mr Rodger has a background in politics, as an MP and Minister of various Portfolios between 1984 and 1990.  He chaired a Ministerial Committee reviewing the Education Review Office and a Data Warehouse Advisory Panel for the Department of Labour.  Prior to this, Mr Rodger was involved with the Blood Products Inquiry, Researched Medicines Industry Association and Southern Regional Health Authority.

 

Justine Smyth, BCom, CA
Director

Justine Smyth is a Director of CSL Traffic Limited, Lingerie Brands Limited, and Smylo Investments Limited.  She is also a Trustee of Greyview Trust and Oaks Trust.

Her background includes being Group Finance Director and Group Tax Director of Lion Nathan Limited and Partner of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu.  She has experience in mergers and acquisitions, tax and financial performance.
