Telegrams are available for our business customers to send important messages to groups of their customers.  The general public is no longer able to send a Telegram.

Telegrams have huge cut-through and impact, so they are ideal for motivating an urgent response from customers who may not have responded to previous communications, or for delivering a positive message.

Telegrams can currently be used to improve the debt recovery process and deliver congratulatory messages.  However, if you are interested in using the Telegram Service for another purpose please do not hesitate to contact us.

  1. Response rates – Traditionally Telegrams are associated with urgent and important news. The Telegram branding together with courier delivery has great cut through and achieves high response rates.
  2. Cost effectiveness – Telegrams are only a fraction of the cost of field agents. The low cost together with high response rates make Telegrams a very cost effective debt collection tool. They can be used as an additional step in the debt recovery process or as a replacement for a final letter or a phone call.
  3. Proof of delivery – The CourierPost delivery scan system provides you with proof of delivery, or where the Telegram cannot be delivered the reason why delivery wasn’t possible. This is often an important part of due diligence in the debt collection process. The Premium option also informs you who signed for the Telegram.
  4. Bill payment – Telegrams are most effective when integrated with the New Zealand Post over-the-counter bill payment solution. A barcode on the Telegram allows your customers to pay the outstanding debt at any PostShop. This is a convenient channel to assist with prompt payment and efficient payment reconciliation.
