Ideal when speed and value are important
When you have letters to send anywhere within New Zealand and speed, as well as price, are the most important things, FastPost is your best choice. FastPost can be sent to street, rural, PO Box and Private Bag addresses in New Zealand.
Go online to purchase FastPost postage included envelopes or call our Customer Service Centre on 0800 501 701.
FastPost requirements
To avoid delays in delivery, FastPost letters must be posted in a FastPost mail box (posting box) or PostShop letter slot and must:
- have a blue FastPost sticker on the top left hand corner; or
- be posted in a FastPost postage included envelope.
Please ensure your FastPost letter has the correct postage.
Blue FastPost stickers are available free from all PostShops, selected New Zealand Post retail outlets and online.
For Business customers, if you are lodging mail for our FastPost service, please physically separate and bundle the FastPost mail so it is clearly identified as requiring priority service. FastPost mail mixed with non-priority mail may not receive the FastPost service.

Getting started
- Purchase one of the following from your local PostShop or online to send your letter using FastPost:
- Stamps; or
- Postage Included Envelopes - These are easy to use and ready to go when you are. Postage on postage included envelopes can only be used once and are for sending within New Zealand only.
- Businesses can also use:
- Post your letters in the FastPost slot of New Zealand Post mail boxes (posting boxes) or PostShop letter slots.
- For Business customers, if you are lodging mail for our FastPost service, please physically separate and bundle the FastPost mail so it is clearly identified as requiring priority service. FastPost mail mixed with non-priority mail may not receive the FastPost service.
Compensation, high risk and prohibited items
Before sending mail items around the country, make sure that what you’re sending is safe to send and will be covered if the item goes missing or is damaged. Make sure you read our prohibited items guide and our compensation guide for more information.
