International Economy Courier provides a door-to-door delivery service, including delivery to post office boxes and rural areas at no additional cost. Our service also incorporates track & trace facilities, from pick up in New Zealand to signature on delivery overseas. Pick up service is available to credit account customers only.
International Economy Courier has a delivery target of 2-6 working days*. Chargeable weights for documents start at 250g, costing you less to send documents by International Economy Courier than with our premium service, International Express.

Sending parcels/merchandise items by International Economy Courier will cost you 30% less than sending by International Express (card rate pricing).

International Economy Courier offers a door to door delivery service to the selected destinations and also delivers to post office boxes and rural areas for no additional charge. Pick up service is available to credit account customers only.

Convenient lodgement options
All customers can lodge International Economy Courier items at any PostShop. Free pick up from commercial premises is available for credit account customers - just call 0800 COURIER (0800 268 7437)

Peace of mind
Our Track & Trace system gives you peace of mind by keeping track of your item from pick-up or lodgement in New Zealand to arrival at its destination. The signature of the Receiver (or Agent) is collected on delivery.

Compensation cover
International Economy Courier includes compensation for loss or damage up to NZ $2,000. Items valued over NZ$2,000 but less than NZ$5,000 are classified as high risk but can be sent if additional cover is purchased. Click here for more information on compensation and high risk items.

Prices are zero-rated for GST purposes, unless paying by stamps, franking machine (ASM) or Digital Postage Meter.
- The minimum chargeable weight for International Economy Courier documents is 250g with a maximum weight of 30kg.
- Canada pricing is separated for documents up to and including 1kg. Documents over 1kg and all merchandise are included in Zone C pricing.
- The definition of a 'document' varies by country and is determined by the Customs authority in the destination country. If in doubt, please include an Export Invoice to prevent any delays to your item.

International Economy Courier merchandise
- Merchandise is charged using the actual weight of your item in 10g increments. The minimum charge is 500g and the maximum 30kg.
- Canada pricing for all merchandise is included in Zone C pricing.

Complete the orange consignment note (IEC001), with city and country written in English
If the items being sent are part of a commercial transaction, a copy of the commercial invoice or an Export Invoice (NCPI025) (.pdf - 40kb) is also required. The Export Invoice can be downloaded as a PDF (.pdf - 40kb) or a Word (.doc - 33kb) document.
For parcels valued over NZ$1,000, New Zealand Customs requires an Export Entry to be completed, which New Zealand Post can complete on your behalf for an additional fee. For more information contact our Customs Clearance Broker on 0800 SEND IT (0800 73 63 48).
